Train yourself to judge your horse’s gallop pace
- Mark out your gallop distance
- Establish your rhythm at the pace you feel is right
- Press start on your watch as pass the start marker
- Maintain this tempo to the end marker, noting when the minute beeps
- After a break, repeat the exercise, adapting your tempo as necessary
