Welcome to the Horse & Hound reviews channel. Unless stated otherwise, Horse & Hound’s reviews are undertaken by the Horse & Hound editorial team, which is made up of competitive riders in a range of disciplines and long-time horse owners. Between us we have hundreds of years’ experience finding the best products for our horses, so are in a great position to test these products out and let you know our thoughts.

Our reviews cover a wide range of items from rider clothing and footwear, through horse rugs and boots, to horse care essentials, such as shampoos and tack cleaning products. Whenever you're looking to buy anything new, make sure you check out our reviews and buying guides first to help you decide!

Once we’ve given it a good test, we rate everything out of 10 – using a tweaked version of the dressage scoring system to make sure we stay consistent – and products that score nine or above are awarded “Horse & Hound Approved” status.
