Harry Charles

British showjumper Harry Charles is a championship team regular who made his Olympic showjumping debut at the Tokyo Games riding Romeo 88. He won individual bronze at the Aachen 2026 World Championships.

Harry Charles major career achievements

At the age of 16, Harry beat his father to win the Welsh Masters, becoming the youngest rider to win the title.

In 2021, he landed a hat-trick of five-star wins at his home show, the London International Horse Show, including the World Cup with Stardust and the grand prix on Borsato – it was the first time in 16 years that both feature classes had been won by the same rider.

Harry broke his arm just four weeks before the Paris Olympics, making a remarkable recovery but competing with his wrist strapped, to win Olympic team gold aboard Romeo 88.

Harry went on to win the London leg of the five-star Longines Global Champions Tour just days after the Paris Olympics.

He finished second in the €1.5m Longines Global Champions Tour grand prix of Monaco with Sherlock in July 2025.

Harry won individual world bronze – and team bronze – at the Aachen 2026 World Championships. He moved up from 59th place after the first round to claim his place on the individual podium with LT Holst Freda, a mare he’d only started riding three months previously.

Harry Charles’ family

Born in 1999, Harry is the eldest son of London 2012 Olympic team gold medallist Peter Charles.

He has been competing in showjumping all his life, enjoying great success on youth teams – winning a handful of European Championship medals – and now as a senior rider.

His two sisters Sienna and Scarlett are also following in the family footsteps.

The Charles family’s home is Heathcroft Farm in Hampshire, with an additional European base in Kronenbourg, The Netherlands.

Is Harry Charles married?

Harry Charles is married to model and fellow showjumper Eve Jobs, the youngest daughter of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. They wed on 26 July, 2025 at St Michael and All Angels Church in Great Tew, followed by a reception at Estelle Manor in the Cotswolds, England.
