Celeste Gall
Freelance reporter
Celeste Gall is an experienced equestrian journalist based in Cornwall, specialising in native breeds and carriage driving. She began writing as a showing reporter for Horse & Hound in 2012 while completing her English literature and language degree at UWE Bristol, and holds an NCTJ Level 3 diploma in journalism.
Having grown up on her mother’s livery yard and competed from a young age alongside her sisters, Celeste brings a lifelong passion for ponies to her reporting. Having competed in both plaited and native working hunter ponies up to her teenage years, Celeste taught herself to carriage drive in 2018 and has successfully competed and won at county and national level with her mother’s Shetland – bought for £35 as a foal – Zennor Tatty Teddy. She now owns a Welsh Cob mare and recently welcomed a new Shetland from Zennor Stud for her three young children.
In addition to Horse & Hound, Celeste’s work has appeared in Showing World and Native Pony Magazine. Celeste also ran a dedicated equestrian section in her local Cornish newspaper, where she interviewed Olympic eventing legend Sir Mark Todd.
While on maternity leave, she launched her latest venture, Cornish Hoofprints, combining her passion for print with a new business journey to work around her young family.
