Why is there both Olympics and Europeans this year?

The 2021 championships were initially cancelled after the Tokyo Olympics were pushed back one year owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, following calls from the European Equestrian Federation and some national federations, the FEI decided the championships could go ahead.
