The news was revealed in the wrap-up report from last week’s FEI Board meeting (30 June to 1 July), which took place in Switzerland.
The eventing Nations Cup is a team event run at short-format four-star level, featuring qualifiers in different countries and culminating in a long-format final at Boekelo in the Netherlands in the autumn. A team ticket for the LA28 Olympics will also be up for grabs at the 2027 eventing Nations Cup final.
The rules were rejigged ahead of this season – each of the five legs now act as qualifiers for the final (based on points collected at each leg), where teams will start on a clean slate. Previously, the series ran solely on a points system, meaning it was possible for winners to be decided before the final started.
Britain’s leg of the Nations Cup has had several homes over the years, most recently at Bicton Horse Trials, in Devon, in May. Chatsworth, in Derbyshire, held the 2023 edition, and before that, it ran at Houghton Hall in Norfolk.
Bramham Horse Trials event director Nicholas Pritchard told H&H that the fixture was “delighted to receive the news from the FEI that we’d been selected to host a qualifier”.
“Bramham is renowned for being a discovery ground for horse and rider combinations with star potential and the Nations Cup will add further impact to those credentials,” said Mr Pritchard.

“Add to that being part of a route to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games makes it incredibly exciting. France, Ireland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Sweden and Italy are all regular visitors, and we’d love to see more flags making the trip to Bramham in 2027.”
He added: “To be chosen by the FEI is testament to the incredible group we have at Bramham who deliver a world-class event – from the home team who do the organisation, infrastructure and our showpiece cross country courses to our army of volunteers and loyal sponsors and partners, everyone plays a huge part.”
