Hunting website aims to raise money for Cumbria flood victims

  • Hunting website The Masters Voice (TMV) is appealing for donations to the Flood Recovery Fund to raise money for those affected by the floods in the area.

The recent floods have devastated Cumbria, which is famous for its devotion to hunting, and have caused widespread distress for local businesses, farmers and agriculture.

“I’ve been to the flooded areas and seen first hand the aftermath of the devastation,” said Midge Todhunter, founder and editor of TMV.

“Many people will be homeless for a year, and experts predict it will take nine months for the properties to dry out. It stirs the heart just to see it.”

All of the money donated goes directly to the Cumbria Community Foundation, which is co-ordinating and allocating the funds raised.

Grants are being given to those affected, and emergency help is being offered to help provide food, travel costs and basic furniture.

To make a donation to the Flood Community Fund, visit www.themastersvoice.co.uk or send a cheque made out to “Cumbria Community Foundation” to Dovenby Hall, Cockermouth CA13 OPN.
