The 2019 Pony Club championships have been cancelled in an “utterly heartbreaking decision” on safety grounds, owing to recent and forecast bad weather.

A spokesman for the Pony Club championship committee said it was with “great sadness and regret” the decision had been made to abandon the event, due to take place from 16 to 20 August at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire.
