Try jump track for the first time in the south west
Venue: Coxleigh Barton Equestrian Centre, Barnstaple
Type of event: Jump track
Date: 16 April
Details: This is a new and exciting event for Coxleigh Barton. Teams of three or four with the best three scores count. You will all need to do a round of showjumping in the arena and then you set off as a group around the tracks. The course will be marked out with a few marshalls too to make sure you don’t get lost! There will be an optimum time, set at a good hunting pace. The clock will stop when three members of the same team cross the line. The winners will be those with least jumping faults and closest to optimum time. Two members of the team will need to jump a course of 2′-2’3 and two members of the team to jump 2’6-2’9. You will all jump one after the other and set off as a group of four for the tracks. To finish, three out of the four members will jump over six cross-country fences — you can pick any height when you get there. One minute will be added to the total score for each showjumping and cross-country fault

A competitor will be started at the entrance to the showjumping ring and will start the showjumping course immediately and will, on completion, proceed immediately to the cross-country course.
