Royal support for strangles through Queen’s Christmas donation

  • The Queen has made a Christmas donation to the British Horse Society (BHS) and the Animal Health Trust’s strangles appeal. The Queen, a BHS patron, sent a cheque for an undisclosed sum to help fight the disease.

BHS chairman Patrick Print said: “We are very grateful to The Queen for making this gift. We want to raise £250,000 by the end of 2008 to fund research to find a fully effective strangles vaccine. I have no doubt Her Majesty’s example will encourage other horse lovers to give to this worthy cause.”

To donate, send a cheque to Strangles Appeal, Animal Health Trust, Freepost CB360, Landwades Park, Kentford, Newmarket, Suffolk CB8 7BR or tel: 08700 502380.
