Our reviewer thought that these were wonderful chaps for the winter months
These quilted half chaps are great. They are warm without being exceptionally bulky and were very comfortable to wear from the start. The zips and poppers worked without any issues throughout the testing period. I had a black pair and they were
the subject of a number of admiring glances/comments from fellow riders.
I tested a medium size, which was quite generous for a size 10/26 waist, but initially they didn’t slip down. As they softened up with regular use, this did tend to happen a little when I was schooling in them, but I think this may not have happened if I had the small rather than the medium. There was plenty of stretch built in to the chaps to accommodate a larger calf than mine.
I particularly liked that the outer material seemed fairly grippy and I felt confident hacking out in these half chaps on my fresh TB during the cold winter months. When he did bounce around, I felt confident I wasn’t about to be unshipped. They also kept my lower legs nice and warm. I haven’t machine washed the chaps, but kept them clean by sponging off any mud and grease as necessary.
Verdict
A definite plus for any rider’s winter wardrobe
