Cheltenham racecourse seeks new sponsor for Foxhunter Chase
Cheltenham racecourse is searching for a new sponsor for its famous Foxhunter Chase.
The race, which was first staged in 1904, has been run under the Christie’s banner for the past 34 years.
But earlier this week the auctioneers stepped down from the sponsorship.
Winners in Christie’s time include Grittar, Spartan Missile, Double Silk, Earthmover, Baby Run and this year’s winner Salsify.
“Christie’s has been an excellent partner for this iconic race, but we will now begin the process of talking to other interested parties and recruiting a new sponsor,” said Cheltenham’s Peter McNeile.
