Millie Bowles
Millie started her career in journalism in 2022 and is currently a senior reporter at local news site KentOnline. She also has bylines in The Times, The Mirror, Daily Express and The Independent, among others. Millie has won the Cathryn Nicoll Award (for interviewing skills in young journalists) at the Regional Press Awards two years running (2025 and 2026).
Millie’s main passion is showing. Her mother was a riding instructor, and Millie grew up testing out the riding school ponies, with her first being a three-year-old Welsh section A from the market called Ruby. This kick-started her love of Welsh ponies and showing, and she competed successfully with her section B Cottrell Riverdance in veteran and senior showing classes, including at the London International Horse Show and the Royal International Horse Show.
She now has a four-year-old – Weydown Stonechat – from similar lines, who will soon start his ridden showing career.
