Whittaker horsebox makes the journey to Dubai

  • Staff from Nottinghamshire-based Whittaker Coachbuilders travelled out to Dubai to hand over a bespoke custom-made horsebox to Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

The luxury coach-built horsebox was made to carry nine horses and the Prince was on hand to receive the horsebox at the Nad Al Sheba Stables.

The horsebox will be used to transport the Prince’s endurance horses to competitions and races.

“We supplied a six horsebox to the Crown Prince of Dubai’s stables in Newmarket last year and were delighted when we were contacted about designing and building a bespoke coach to be used in Dubai,” said Jayne Whittaker.

“With nine horses to carry this left only a small amount of space for the living quarters but we took up the challenge to make sure all the latest technology, fixtures and fittings were included for the Prince.”

Fittings fit for a prince included walnut high gloss units, leather upholstery, a flat screen television, chrome lighting, fridge and combination oven, and of course air conditioning.

“The horsebox was finished with the very latest body wrap graphics of the Prince riding in the dusk, which provides a stunning look for this very special coach,” said Jayne.

“Travelling out to Dubai to handover the horsebox is one of the highlights of our 21 years in business and something I will remember for a very long time,” she added.
