Ladies’ Day and a Royal runner-up: Royal Ascot day 3 in pictures
The highlight of day 3 at Royal Ascot (Thursday 19 June) was certainly a thrilling Gold Cup, which saw a battle to the line.
The Queen’s horse Estimate was narrowly denied a 2nd victory in the race, as favourite Leading Light, trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by his son Joseph won by just a neck.
And as it was Ladies’ Day, the girls were out in force in their favourite hats — some more daring than others.
