An American Iraq war veteran has undergone facial reconstructive surgery after he was trampled on by a police horse.
Veteran Nick Morgan was crushed last week by a police horse during a demonstration outside Hofstra University in Long Island, New York.
Officers were controlling a group of ‘Iraq Vets Against the War’ and other protestors outside the presidential debate at Hofstra University on 15 October.
Sergeant Morgan underwent surgery to repair broken bones in his face at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Philadelphia.
