Driving loses the 2013 Welsh national trials
The Welsh National Driving Trials, held at Erddig, will not take place next year.
The driving trials were set up at the National Trust property in 2008.
But Erddig 2012 organiser Eileen Cornish says a £5,000 increase in site rent means the event cannot go ahead in 2013.
A spokesman for the National Trust told H&H it was sad that the event had been cancelled.
“This year [2013] is the first time that we have ever sought a contribution towards the significant staff costs of preparing for and hosting the event,” he said.
It is not known if the event will return in 2014.
