Birthday party held in American barn at SP Equestrian
While “pony parties” are popular for children’s birthdays, by the age of 30 you might expect to have outgrown the idea.
Not so Kate and James Brown, who celebrated their joint 30th last month with a party in an American barn at SP Equestrian, based at the couple’s Nottinghamshire farm.
“For their wedding they had a marquee in a nearby field, but lots of guests were wandering down to see the horses, so this time we brought the party to them,” said Phil Creighton, who runs SP Equestrian with Stephen Thompson.
A marquee was erected within the American barn for around 40 guests to enjoy a sit-down dinner. And all 14 equine residents joined in the birthday celebrations.
“The horses loved it,” added Phil,”and they all behaved really well – no spooking or kicking the barn doors – especially as they are mostly youngsters and dressage horses.
“It made the party special as the Browns invest so much time and money into horses.”
