Farewell to… a renowned instructor and hunter livery yard proprietor

  • The renowned instructor and hunter livery yard proprietor Bill Pettigrew died on 15 January, aged 81.

Bill established Pittern Hill Stables in Warwickshire and, later, Ettington Park.

His immaculately turned out liveries were delivered to packs throughout the centre of England and he encouraged many inexperienced riders into the field for the first time.

He retired to his native Scotland 10 years ago with his wife Flora, who died in 2011.
