Racing
Uttoxeter racecourse is holding a family fun day on 22 November. As well as racing, there will be a Christmas market and children will have the chance to meet the ice queen and her reindeer.

Dressage convention
Top dressage riders and trainers will be taking part in masterclasses at the Best of British National Dressage Convention on 21-22 November at Hartpury College, Glos. Both days will feature para dressage sessions.

Commemorative evening
Sergeant Anthony Bysouth and equine vet Sally Hodgson will be remembering the British Cavalry’s retreat through France in August 1914. Organised by British Horse Society (BHS) Warwickshire, proceeds from the event on 20 November at Weddington Social Club, Nuneaton.

Arena polo
Hickstead’s opening arena polo tournament of the season will be held at the West Sussex venue on 21-22 November.

Talk
Alec Lochore will be speaking at World Horse Welfare’s Belwade Farm rescue and rehoming centre in Aberdeenshire on 20 November. Alec directed the 2015 European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle and was eventing manager at the London 2012 Olympics. He is also involved in the running of other major equestrian events.

Fundraiser
A fundraising lunch for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) is being held at Ashlands Lodge, near Leicester, on 22 November. The event is sponsored by Dodson & Horrell and tickets cost £47.50 per person.

Exhibition
An exhibition of the work of sculptor and artist Elisabeth Frink will be held at Nottingham Lakeside Arts Centre from 25 November to 28 Februray. Equines feature in much of her work and a bronze horse commissioned by the Earl of March for Goodwood Racecourse will be on display.
