Hartpury CDI

  • Constance Menard of France was the darling of Hartpury CDI, winning the grand prix and freestyle riding her Gelderland mare, Lianca.

Britain’s Nicola Jourdain took the grand prix special having finished third in the grand prix behind Stephanie Croxford. Stephanie was back in the saddle having given birth to a baby girl just six weeks ago.

Gareth Hughes dominated the prix st georges for the small tour. He finished first and second with Sandman and Ramazzotti respectively, heading Damian Hallam and Team Berkeley’s Spirit Freedom, as well as his trainer Carl Hester on new ride, Collo.

The rest of the small tour was cancelled due to torrential rain, which flooded Hartpury’s outdoor arenas.

Tragically, Erik Theilgaard’s 13-year-old Monsanto suffered heart failure and died in the prize giving following the grand prix freestyle on 20 July.
