The FEI board has announced its decision on all four Olympic and Paralympic disciplines
The European dressage championships 2021 have been allocate to Hagen, Germany from 7 to 12 September by the FEI. Final confirmation that the event will go ahead is currently awaited for the event organisers.
The championships were initially cancelled after the Tokyo Olympics were pushed back one year owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, following calls from the European Equestrian Federation and some national federations, the FEI decided the dressage and showjumping championships could go ahead.
The dressage competition takes places across grand prix, grand prix special and grand prix freestyle to music. Both European teams and individual riders will compete for medals, with three sets of medals available. The team medals will be awarded after the grand prix, with the first set of individual medals after the grand prix special, and a second set of medals after the grand prix freestyle.
