Controversy surrounds hack championship at HOYS

After heading the large hack division, Marquis of Tavistock, a seven-year-old thoroughbred gelding bought out of racing, took the Topham Barnes hack title for his owner and rider John Keen.

However, as hacks are expected to display impeccable manners at all times, this result was not without controversy as the son of Averit became unsettled in both his class presentation and the championship award ceremony.
