  • A French-American designer has introduced a new range of equestrian jewellery, inspired by polo.

Dephine Pontvieux’s “Equestrian Collection” is made of Latigo leather or colourful cowhide, adorned with brass or stainless steel. Ms Pontvieux was commissioned to design “Stirrup Choker” necklaces as prizes for the La Martina Miami Beach Polo World Cup in April, where she officially launched her collection.

“I love the combination of leather and original hardware one would never expect to find on a piece of jewellery,” said Ms Pontvieux, who had previously incorporated bits of sailing hardware in last year’s “Nautical Collection”.

“I was taken away, not only with the striking elegance and poise of polo ponies, but also with the splendid pieces of horse tack they wear.”

The collection includes necklaces, bracelets, leather cuffs, chokers, earrings and belts, as well as dog collars and leads.

The Equestrian Collection is available online. Visit http://missnyet.com/wp/the-equestrian-collection/

    Prices start at $45 (£30).
