  • A limited edition tie in The Queen’s racing colours has been produced.

The tie has been made to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation (June 1953) by tailors Thresher & Glenny.

The company has held Royal Warrants since 1793 but hasn’t produced a Royal tie since 1935.

Thresher & Glenny celebrated King George V’s silver jubilee by designing a “souvenir” tie. The tie “blended the shades of His Majesty’s racing livery in a manner that bears no resemblence to a club tie,” said the company at the time.

And now Thresher & Glenny has produced a new tie “with Her Majesty’s racing colours very much in mind”.

The Queen enjoyed success at the racecourse this summer, when Estimate won the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in her colours.

There are only 501 of the commemorative tie.
