    What the organisers say

Weatherbys Private Banking Cholmondeley Castle Horse Trials is an excellent event, which intends to give confidence to anyone aiming for an autumn three-day event.

The dressage takes place in a flat field near the lorry park and has ample warm-up space. Showjumping is set under the magnificent castle on flat ground, with the cross-country course running fairly close. Course-designer Alec Lochore utilises the natural features of the landscape and parkland, creating a rustic and solid cross-country course.

Weatherbys Private Banking will be hosting an owners’ facility, where complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the day.

    What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “There is plenty of room for warming up.” “The arenas were a little unlevel, which was not ideal.” “The showjumping arena was large and the track was OK. The ground was a little firm.” “The showjumping tracks are up to height.”

Cross-country — “Super courses in the most beautiful location. Galloping and educational although the ground was firm and a little uneven in places.” “The water caused problems as it is very near the hospitality, but very fair for the more experienced horse. Also, the rail ditch rail caused some problems for novices.”
