Weatherbys expand to take in private client insurance

Weatherbys are expanding their financial services interests to take in private client insurance – household, personal items and motor.

Weatherbys Bank has joined forces with insurance entrepreneur Charles Hamilton, formerly of Lycetts, to set up Weatherbys Hamilton which began trading at the beginning of October.

Initially, the company will build on Weatherbys existing bloodstock insurance business but from January 2013 will move on to address the other insurance needs of their client base.

Recalling his previous life as an insurance entrepreneur of over 30 years, Hamilton says: “We used to say if it [Weatherbys] was really to get its act together we’d be in trouble. Well now we have!” Charles Hamilton will be CEO and Weatherbys Bank chief executive, Roger Weatherby, will be chairman.
