Shane Sweetnam Irish Olympic showjumping reserve
Shane Sweetnam is to be the first reserve for Ireland’s Olympic showjumpers.
Team Ireland showjumping manager Robert Splaine yesterday (Thursday 19 July) confirmed that Shane and stallion Amaretto Darco will be the reserves for the competition.
Ireland failed to qualify a team but Billy Twomey and Cian O’Connor will represent the country as individuals.
Thirty-year-old Shane, from Cork who is now based in Wellington, Florida, has been a regular member of Ireland’s Nations Cup teams over the past two years.
