The Home of Rest for Horses has changed its name to the Horse Trust, 120 years after it was founded. Having read Black Beauty, Londoner Anne Lindo set up the home to care for overworked horses and educate owners.
At a launch event last Thursday, president Lady Somerleyton said the new name reflects the preventative, educational and welfare work now done by the Horse Trust.
The trust is funded solely by charitable donations. It provides scientific grants, charitable scholarships and educational leaflets, as well as a sanctuary for around 100 horses.
