Farrier must attend drugs rehabilitation to keep job

A Derbyshire farrier who was convicted of drugs offences has been warned he faces being struck off if he does not undertake rehabilitation.

Louis May, of Hadfield, Glossop, was convicted of the possession of cocaine and amphetamine at Manchester City Magistrates Court on 17 January and fined £200.

The Farriers Registration Council (FRC) found him guilty of serious misconduct in a professional respect on 11 September.

But the FRC decided to suspend judgement on him for 12 months. He must return in September 2013 with proof he has undertaken rehabilitation.

If he is convicted of another drugs offence he will be struck off, he was told.
