British showjumping team goes for European glory in Denmark
The four riders who will carry British hopes in the ECCO FEI Showjumping European Championships in Herning, Denmark this week will be:
- Scott Brash riding Lady Kirkham and Lord & Lady Harris’s Hello Sanctos
- William Funnell riding Billy Stud’s Billy Congo
- Ben Maher riding Jane F Clark’s Cella
- Michael Whitaker riding his own Viking V
Chef d’equipe Rob Hoekstra said: “It’s a really exciting team. All 4 riders can jump clear rounds and I’m looking forward to the week’s upcoming competition.”
The other British showjumper who travelled to Denmark was Robert Smith with Voila IV.
All the showjumping horses passed the trot-up yesterday and competition begins this afternoon with the first speed leg of the championship at 4.45pm local time (3.45pm UK time).
