Petplan Equine donates food to Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Residents at Redwings Horse Sanctuary will benefit from nearly 15 tonnes of food following a successful Facebook campaign launched by insurance company Petplan Equine.
The company pledged to donate 1kg of feed for every person who clicked ‘donate’ on their Facebook page and 14,721 obliged.
“We were so thrilled to receive this generous donation, it couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Lynn Cutress at Redwings.
“After such a cold winter, the grass hasn’t grown as it normally would and so lots of our residents are still relying on feed.”
Representatives from Petplan Equine visited the charity’s new Aylsham centre in Norfolk to hand over the money for the feed last week (16 April).
“We’d like to thank all those Facebook followers who have taken the trouble to get involved in this initiative,” added Isabella von Mesterhazy at Petplan Equine.
“It is a priviledge to be able to help towards the cost of feeding so many of [the horses].”
