Bishop Burton to host 2014 European junior eventing championships

  • Bishop Burton College in east Yorkshire is to host the 2014 FEI European Junior Eventing Championships.

Jeanette Dawson, principal of Bishop Burton College, said: “We are incredibly happy to have won the bid. We held our inaugural FEI Championships here for the Pony Europeans in 2010 when Britain’s Eventing Pony team won gold – so hopefully we can bring our home team good luck again in 2014 too!”

British Eventing (BE) chief executive, Mike Etherington-Smith added: “The team at Bishop Burton has been hosting BE events for over twenty five years now. This, coupled with them organising a very successful FEI Pony European Championship in 2010 firmly establishes them as excellent hosts for 2014.

“I am sure that the organisers will pull out all the stops to ensure that competitors from all over Europe will be made extremely welcome and enjoy this fantastic venue.”
