Constitution Hill

Constitution Hill was a top two-mile hurdler, described as one of the most talented of all time in this division, until he switched codes in 2026 to focus on the Flat after falling in three of his last four hurdle races.

Born in 2017, the attractive bay gelding with a small white star was bred by Sally Noott. He is by Blue Bresil, out of Queen Of The Stage, who is by King’s Theatre.

Trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden in all of his hurdle races by Nico de Boinville, Constitution Hill is owned by Michael Buckley.

Described by his trainer as a very “straightforward” horse at home, who “eats, sleeps, gets up and does what work you ask him to, and then goes back to bed”, he comes to life at the racecourse.

Having won the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2022, he returned in 2023 to triumph in the Champion Hurdle. Constitution Hill won eight Grade 1 races during his National Hunt career, including the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton three times.

He ran on the Flat for the first time at Southwell on 20 February 2026, where he made a scintillating winning debut on the all-weather under Oisin Murphy.
