Our reviewer loved this item of clothing and couldn't fault it despite it's slightly high cost

The only hurdle to cover come is the price of this gilet at £129 it is an expensive outlay. However, having bought cheaper imitations over the past few years and still longing for a Schoffel the expenditure is worth it.

This is a quality jacket, with lots of attractive features including the thermal pro material giving you warmth without bulk, it’s breathable so you don’t over-heat, attractive colour ranges and detail including leather trim around the arms.

I’ve worn this jacket through the winter and it’s proved a versatile asset to the wardrobe. It’s great to slip on under a top coat on extra cold days and also smart enough to wear out with trousers and a shirt. I liked the fact that it’s not bulky as you really don’t know you’re wearing it, even handy for driving when you want an extra layer on but not a full jacket.

The fit is flattering and true to size. Some other gilets have proved fairly shapeless but this felt feminine and not as if I was permanently wearing “yard clothes”.

I would recommend this to a friend – once you’ve made the purchase you’ll have a great gilet that will give you good service over the years

    Verdict

A worthwhile investment that will serve you well for many years
