Improve your ‘armchair jockey’ skills with new video game
Fancy yourself as the next AP McCoy — well, from the safety of your sitting room
at least?
A new video game, Champion Jockey: Gr1 Jockey and Gallop Racer, was released on 2 September for Xbox, PS3 and Wii, allowing players to enjoy the thrill of riding out a “big win”.
It features both Flat and jumps races and you can play against friends or others online.
“Players will learn how to use the horse’s reins and whip as well shifting their body-weight to ride their thoroughbred to victory,” claimed a spokesman for the game, though we think it takes a few years riding out both lots to achieve all this.
Stephanie Jones from Racing For Change had a sneak preview and said it was “great fun”.
“Riding experience doesn’t seem to count too much, so it’s great for everyone and allows all those armchair jockeys out there to give it a try,” she added.

The game costs £39.99.
