New sheepskin surcingle pad on the market
Online retailer Shadow Horse has added a new surcingle pad to its range, aimed to improve horses’ comfort when they’re being lunged.
The “Fleeceworks Surcingle Pad” is made from Australian merino sheepskin and features Velcro straps for a secure fit.
“The sheepskin is ideal for horses with sensitive skin,” said a Shadow Horse spokesman.
“The shorter dense hair [has] incredible cushioning qualities, [and] also stops the sheepskin matting over time.
“Complete sheepskin covering and rolled edges also dispel any pressure points and help to prevent rubbing across the wither and back.”
The pad costs £98 and comes in black, brown or cream, in one size.
