  • With Christmas fast approaching, if you want to get your pony-obsessed little princess the perfect present you might need to start saving the pennies now.

The Clydesdale Prancing Pony, which can carry a load of up to 100kg, comes with an £850 price tag.

Hamley’s toy store in London picked out the hand-finished toy in June as one of the hot favourites in this year’s Christmas toy contest.

Stuffed toy specialist Hansa UK, whose range varies from hamsters to polar bears, makes the pony.

“It really is quite a magnificent looking beast,” Hansa’s sales director told H&H. “It is really popular with little girls who love ponies.”

Unfortunately although the pony is static it still requires parental supervision to be ridden as its three-legged pose makes it unstable.
