Suffolk vets drive 4,000 miles to Gambia Horse and Donkey Clinic

  • Two Suffolk vets are about to embark on the trip of a lifetime to raise money for the Gambia Horse and Donkey Clinic in Sambel Kunda, Western Africa.

Next month, Pat Sells and Laura Heaps set off to drive a 4×4 from the UK all the way to the clinic to deliver desperately needed supplies, clocking up a total of 4,000 miles along the way.

Once there they will collect samples to help research the numerous tropical diseases that sadly affect the animals out there.

The 4×4 itself will be given to the clinic and enabling them to help the many working horses and donkeys in need across the Gambia.

The journey will take them overland down the West side of France and through central Spain. From then onwards Gibraltar, Marrakech and Banjul will be just a few of the points along the way.

The current total stands at £863.00, 12% of their target of £7,000.
