Rowallan bought by Robert Morris and renamed The Equestrian Centre

  • Rowallan Activity Centre in Ayrshire has been bought and is now called The Equestrian Centre.

Robert Morris (pictured) who owns around 70 dressage horses and Morris Furniture Group, told H&H he bought the site last Thursday (12 September) from administrators KPMG.

Rowallan, which was set up by Lord Rowallan, went into administration last year.

He added that he was going to expand dressage and showjumping at the centre, as well as improving the accommodation and facilities.

Mr Morris said he had also bought an additional 600 acres, with the hope of introducing eventing to the centre.

We want it to be bigger and better,” he told H&H. “We want to have more shows, more prize-money. We hope this will have a massive impact on the Scottish equestrian scene, which has suffered a blow in recent times.”

Mr Morris added that all previous schedules will be honoured, including the dressage Home International at the end of this month.
