Man charged with littering as horse leaves manure on the road

  • A man from Texas has been charged with “littering” after leaving horse manure on a public road.

Ben McClearly was walking his horse Rascal, down a road on Tuesday (24 February) when he was stopped by local police, who had seen dung on the road.

He said Rascal was being trained for trail rides so needed to get used to moving vehicles.

On the ticket under the vehicle registration field police stated “not applicable, horse”.

“Next thing I know somebody stopped me, searched me twice, and I got a citation because the horse pooped on the side of the road,” McCleary told local press.

Mr McCleary is due in court on 11 March. He branded the incident as very “un-Texan”.
