  • Star Irish hurdler Hurricane Fly broke his own world record yesterday (Sunday 26 January) — notching up his 19th Grade 1 win.

He took the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown under Ruby Walsh (pictured), a length-and-a-half ahead of Our Conor.

It was a 4th consecutive win in the race for Hurricane Fly — who has now matched the mighty Istabraq’s record in the Irish Champion Hurdle.

The Willie Mullins-trained 10-year-old is now set to defend his Champion Hurdle title at Cheltenham in March. He is now 3-1 to take the race for a 3rd time.
