A handsome grey horse has landed a starring role in a pop music video.
Mr Happy, a Shire-Lipizzaner, was filmed galloping along as singer Rosie Vanier from the Cornish band Rosie and the Goldbug sang from his back.
Although more accustomed to spending his days hunting with the North Cornwall and Four Burrow, 17.1hh Mr Happy was quite the natural in front of the camera, according to his owner, Rosie Malcolm.
“He looked magnificent galloping along with his mane flowing,” said Ms Malcolm, an event rider who is a fan of the band. “It was very exciting — I’ve never been involved with anything like that before.”
Ms Malcolm became friends with the band after attending several of their gigs. When she was asked if Mr Happy could be in their new video, Ms Malcolm jumped at the chance.
A horse of many talents, Mr Happy has show jumped and evented, but this was his first appearance as a film star.
And as he was such a natural, Ms Malcolm is thinking of hiring him out as a model.
“Everyone said how well behaved he was and he loves attention,” she said.
The video promotes the band’s new single You’ve Changed, out on 1 December.
