Sponsorship news in the UK horse industry


  • Horse feed manufacturer Fulmart Feeds has announced it is to sponsor the Grooms’ Academy at Askham Bryan College.The Grooms’ Academy operates alongside the college’s equestrian courses, and is designed to recognise its top equestrian pupils.
  • Top event and dressage rider Ruth Edge is to be sponsored by saddle company Amerigo. “It was by chance that my relationship with Amerigo came about,” said Ruth. “A horse I had in for training arrived with an Amerigo saddle and I now ride in them all the time.”
  • Lycetts insurance brokers will be the title sponsors of the Belton International Horse Trials Grantham Cup for 2013 — the event’s feature class. It takes place on Sunday 14 April.
  • Harry Hall will be the official supporter of the competitors’ and grooms’ buggy service at Badminton Horse Trials this year. The buggies — which transport all competitors and grooms around the site — will be Harry Hall branded.
  • A saddle from Walsall-based company Black Country Saddles will be awarded to the winner of the Rider of the Year at the BSPS Summer Championships. The championships are held from 21 to 24 August at Arena UK.
  • British Eventing has announced that Hows Racesafe — a manufacturer of equestrian supplies — will support the British junior eventing squad and programme for the 2013 season. This will be the company’s fourth consecutive year sponsoring eligible riders aged between 14 and 18.
  • Event rider Oliver Townend will be sponsored by equestrian suppliers Veredus and Sprenger. The sponsorship has been arranged by Zebra Products — the UK distributor for both companies.
  • Equine feed company Reverdy will sponsor the Racehorse to Eventer section of the South East Eventers League in 2013. Reverdy will also be the title sponsors of this year’s Brightling Park International Horse Trials (13-14 July).
  • Woof Wear has added Cornish showjumper Jon Paull to its team of “brand champions” that it sponsors. “It’s a priviledge to be sponsored by such an internationally renowned company,” said Jon. “I’m looking forward to promoting the brand.”
  • Walsall-based saddlers Barnsby has announced that it will sponsor New Zealand eventer Lizzie Brown. Lizzie moved to the UK in 2011 to pursue a professional eventing career.
