New UK equestrian industry appointments


  • The Jockey Club has appointed William Rucker and William Vestey as new members of the Cheltenham racecourse committee.
    Robert Waley-Cohen, chairman of Cheltenham Racecourse said: “I am delighted that William and William have agreed to join the committee at Cheltenham. William Rucker has a wealth of experience both as a racehorse owner and as a businessman and William Vestey has experience of Cheltenham as a long-term member during his father’s time as chairman. I look forward to working with them both.”

    Children’s charity — The Horse Rangers Association — has appointed a new director, Colonel Geoffrey Godbold OBE.
    Geoffrey said: “Having been very involved with cadets, horses and charities for so much of my life, I have always admired this organisation, so it is a great privilege to be asked to become its director. I look forward to fulfilling the role and to the positive and fun time which we are going to have.”

    Iain Heaton has been appointed the Pony Club’s new director of finance and operations and will join its office at Stoneleigh Park.
    Iain said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Pony Club, an organisation that played a huge part in my life as I grew up. It is a great privilege to work for a truly world leading equestrian and youth organisation and I look forwards to contributing to its continued success.”
