One month until 2012 International Eventing Forum at Hartpury
The 2012 International Eventing Forum takes place in exactly a month’s time – on 6 February, at Hartpury College, Glos.
The forum has been running for eight years and this year’s theme is “Focus on Success”.
Former Irish team member Eric Smiley, coach to the Belgian team and Fellow of the British Horse Society, is chairing the forum.
The panel of speakers for the “demonstration-based” training sessions is centred around former top riders who now train various nation’s senior squads: Christopher Bartle (British-born, coaches Germany), Laurent Bousquet (France) and David O’Connor (American-born and “coach in waiting” to the USA team, current coach to the Canadians).
There will also be a session with Luis Alvarez Cervera, a Spanish Olympic showjumper and eventer who is now showjumping coach to the New Zealand eventing team. Full details of the themes of their demos are available online.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to hear updates from the FEI eventing committee and about the London Olympic site at Greenwich.
The forum counts as an official training day for British Eventing (BE) accredited trainers, as well as being recognised as an approved refresher course for British Horse Society registered instructors.
