Frangible pins rule to be reviewed by FEI eventing committee
The FEI eventing committee is considering recommending that riders do not automatically receive 21 cross-country penalties for breaking a frangible pin.
Last week, riders petitioned the committee, calling for a change to the rule.
It is now considering an amendment, which suggests that penalties are only added if the ground jury feels that a horse would have fallen or stopped had the pin not broken.
If agreed, it will be put forward for consideration by the FEI bureau on 8 June.
