Christopher Burton leads Pau despite Clayton Fredericks’ appeal

  • Clayton Fredericks’ time-penalties on today’s cross-country in the CCI**** at Pau, France, have been reduced from 2 (5sec over the optimum) to 1.2 (3sec over the optimum). However, this does not alter his placing from the provisional standings and he and Bendigo still lie third.

Clayton appealed because his path at the first water was blocked by a steward and he had to alter his line to avoid him.

Christopher Burton (pictured) is therefore the confirmed overnight leader with Holstein Park Leilani, with William Fox-Pitt second on Oslo.

The first eight horses are all within one fence, so tomorrow’s showjumping will be tense.
