British-based rider named for Dutch eventing team for London Olympics

  • The Dutch eventing team for the 2012 Olympics in London has been named:

    • Andrew Heffernan with Millthyme Corolla
    • Tim Lips and Concrex Oncarlos
    • Elaine Pen and Vira

British-based Andrew made his senior championship debut when finishing 27th at the European Championships in Luhm ¼hlen last year on Millthyme Corolla (pictured). This will be his first Olympics.

Tim finished 15th at the last Olympics on Hong Kong, riding the same horse as this time, Concrex Oncarlos.

Elaine Pen, 22, will be one of the youngest riders of the Games and also makes her Olympic debut after finishing 14th at last year’s Europeans on Vira.

The Dutch only have three riders in London because they did not gain a qualification for a full team of five, but won three places through the rider ranking system.
