Auchinleck Horse Trials to run in 2014
The organiser of Auchinleck Horse Trials has secured dates for the 2014 season, after initially fearing the event would be lost from the calendar.
Aly Boswell has been running the event at her home in Ayrshire since 1984, but its patchy record — it has fallen foul of the weather — meant there was a question mark over its future.
Now British Eventing (BE) has confirmed that Auchinleck can run on 7 June 2014, but only from grass-roots to novice.
“I am pleased, because it means we will still keep a proper eventing interest in this area,” Mrs Boswell told H&H.
“If running from novice down makes it less risky [in insurance terms], that is fine by me,” she added.
